Rules
How to Play.
Learn Black Sheep in two minutes. Play for hours. The fewest points wins.
Getting Started
- Lay out 15–25 question cards, image side up.
- Put the point tokens in a bowl and the Nomination cards (A and B) in the standees.
- Give each player an "A / YES" and "B / NO" card.
- The player wearing the most black goes first.
- Start by picking a card and reading it out loud.
Yes / No Cards
- Everyone places a "Yes" or "No" answer card face down.
- Once everyone has chosen, flip the cards face up to reveal the answers.
- Players who chose the more popular answer each get a point token.
Eg. 5 "Yes" vs. 3 "No" — the "Yes" players get a point. In a tie, no one gets a point.
Nominate Cards
- When a player picks up a "Nominate" card, they assign any two players as "A" and "B".
- Players vote for who they think best fits the nomination with their answer card face down.
- Once everyone has voted, flip the answers up.
- Players who voted with the majority get a point.
In a tie, only the active player gets a point.
Winning the Game
You win if you don't lose.
The player with the fewest points when the tokens run out is the Black Sheep — the winner.
A Few Notes
- The active player picks a number for question cards with a blank value (__).
- All players vote each round, including the player who picked up the card.
- The active player can nominate themselves.
- Questions can be read before or after nominees are chosen.
- Picking unexpected or unlikely players for nominations can be fun.
